Your Kenya Safari Guide - Rocco Sette
Biography: Wildlife Photographer of the Savanna
Rocco received his first camera as a gift from his father when he was 14 years old, and today he can look back on over 30 years as a professional photographer. His love for wildlife photography began over 20 years ago. Since then, Rocco Sette has been intensively engaged in wildlife photography and is now recognized as a specialist in capturing wild animals in their natural habitat. He has traveled to most of Africa’s national parks, but his place of longing is and remains the East African savanna, especially that of Kenya. He has been visiting this unique wildlife paradise regularly for many years, which inspires his creative work with photo and film cameras. He didn’t want to keep these wonderful experiences to himself. For this reason, Rocco Sette has been offering personalized safaris for private clients regularly for over 20 years. He sees it not as a job, but as a gift to give other people insight into this wonderful world. “Every time I see the sparkle in my clients’ eyes, I know that I have given them something unforgettable for their lives.”
Honorable Mention
Many of his photos have been finalists in international competitions among several thousand submissions. This shows that Rocco Sette has the instinct to capture the magic moment with his camera. “When I want to photograph a wild cat, I communicate with it internally. I say to it: Come, beauty, look at me. Give me one of your wonderful looks. You are so graceful! Give me this gift.” This is how unique works are created that truly captivate the viewer.
Respect and regard for the animals are the highest principles of his work, which he also wants to be understood as a message to his fellow human beings: “The few remaining paradises of this world must be protected and preserved!” To emphasize the urgency of this important issue, Rocco regularly organizes public slide presentations.
